The maple blems are bats that may be part way through the production process and a mistake is found. It has been my experience that the mistakes are most always cosmetic.....like the logo is not on straight or did not get burned into the bat properly. There may be an issue with the weight of the bat or perhaps the paint or stain got messed up somehow. Most of these blems that I have seen are unfinished with an imperfect logo stamped into them. I use these bats and they are as durable and hit every bit as good as the fully finished, full-price bats. So if you are not particularly concerned with the way your bat looks, you can save a lot of money buying these blemished bats.
